Situated at the foot of Mt Songak in Kaesong, the Kaesong Koryo Insam Processing Factory is one of the representative insam processing factories in the DPRK.
It has put its management on an IT footing, and its automated, flow-line processes of selecting insam, producing hongsam, pharmaceuticals and liquors, and packing are all germ- and dust-free.
It processes six-year-old insam cultivated in the insam plots covering several hundred hectares in the Kaesong area, into scores of products, such as Kaesong Koryo natural hongsam and paeksam, Kaesong Koryo insam tea and Kaesong Koryo insam liquor, which are known to be efficacious for preventing and treating cancers, liver and heart troubles, and diabetes, invigorating cerebral metabolism, strengthening immunity, boosting metabolism and improving sexual function. The products enjoy huge demand at home and abroad.
Kaesong Koryo Insam Liquor and over ten insam products of the factory were registered as the products of highest quality and patented products of the country, and won high praises at the national and international exhibitions and trade fairs.
