The Tanchon Smeltery, a leading non-ferrous metal producer in the DPRK, operates all its production lines through an integrated production system.

It has reinforced the acid liquid-making and electrolysis lines to recover all the valuable metals, and directed efforts to modernizing the equipment, developing a temperature control system of the oxidation tank in sulphuric acid production, developing and producing filter cloth of the vacuum induction horizontal belt filter, renovating the zinc casting induction furnace and rebuilding the line of producing electrolytic zinc with barium carbonate, thus remarkably raising the actual extraction rate of electrolytic zinc.

It has built a line of processing zinc residue to increase the production of zinc white.

The quality KM-brand electrolytic zinc produced at the smeltery has a competitive edge in the international market.

Other non-ferrous and rare metals including crude lead and cadmium produced at the smeltery are in great demand.
