With successful modernization in two stages, the Kumsong Tractor Factory has laid material foundations for realizing the comprehensive mechanization of the rural economy on a higher level.

All the processes, ranging from materials production, supply and processing to assembling, are connected to one another on an assembly line; a flexible manufacturing system has been installed; a precision processing area, a plastic workshop and a painting workshop, equipped with the latest technology, have newly been built; and the repair workshop has been renovated. These all make it possible for the factory to thoroughly ensure smooth production and product quality.

The factory directs primary effort to introducing the latest sci-tech achievements to production by relying on its own technical forces.

It also strives to increase the rate of domestic production of raw and other materials needed for building tractors and other farm machines.
